Dreams Start With Patience #58

History Changes from Subtle Events

Human beings witness small things stack on top of one another until an unrelenting force of chaos stares down society as a whole.

AI, Trump-coin, and the Los Angeles Fires—all sources of suffering for one reason:

The world you are living in feels unfamiliar.

In the past year, I've felt overwhelmed by the series of events that have led me to the present.

This world's uncertainty creates an uncomfortable feeling.

If you can resonate with:

  • The confusion of rapid technological advancements

  • Uncertainty about what and who to believe regarding the "truth"

  • The desire to self-preserve in this fast-paced technological landscape

Here's what you can expect from reading this week's edition.

The Issue Is a Lack of Trust

We watch tension unfold as the majority of us grapple with the everyday urgency to "make it" while feeling guilty for "slowing down."

A significant question to consider, one that may change the pacing of your everyday life:

Do you start with the end in mind?

Like any great storyteller, have faith in the idea that all roads lead to Rome.

Where Do You Want to Reside?

What if the end is the beginning?

You just don't know; it's not an objective truth.

I've always grappled with my own finite nature—until I didn't.

Because of this, the tension was placed on my resistance to urgency.

I knew I "had to" do things quicker because the world was changing so fast.

Existential dread and a lack of control contributed to deep levels of anxiety, resulting in inaction.

This period of my life went on for so long.

What helped? Choosing where I would reside spiritually and mentally.

And it began to unfold.

The Atmosphere of Change

I grew up without any religious or spiritual programming from my family—unlike most around me.

I didn't believe in God or any greater power.

The personal challenges I faced always held me back from seeking the path because I believed I never deserved unconditional love.

It felt wrong to be around family and friends who were telling me, "God loves you," or "Christ adores you; the Holy Spirit is alive and well in you."

This newsletter is not about how you should come to Christ or any religion, for that matter.

Whenever you find yourself struggling with the end, just know it's 100 times easier to put one foot in front of the other with some sort of faith (whatever that may be).

In my life now, I feel unconditional love from everything.

This is because the entire atmosphere inside my mind has shifted regarding:

  • My self-worth

  • The path that I am walking

  • Individuals in my life who continue to support me

And it starts with forgiveness.

Inside the ‘Bellows of the Beast’

Your mind is a supercomputer.

Your consciousness is either an angel who constructs or a demon who demolishes.

If your consciousness reacts to adversity solely in regards to the self:

Do you create new perspectives or understandings from the resistance you feel?

Or do you allow yourself to suffer without any transformative growth?

Because now, your mind is running the same game over and over again.

Things begin to break down all around you as the law of entropy takes over.

When I discovered the reasons for being held back in life, it was always due to:

  1. My inaction

  2. My self-sabotaging

  3. My fear of success and the responsibilities it might bring

The life you lead is measured by the resistance you've overcome.

In this modern world, the number of uncomfortable conversations you have creates substantial impact on your psyche—leaving room for either an angel or demon to express.

The Concept of Finite vs. Eternal

There are two modalities relevant to how one views their own life from above.

The notion that "there is only one pathway to God or salvation" is dogma at best—a construct dedicated to keeping us bound to beliefs that don't serve us.

Higher levels of thinking require you to either play:

  • Finite games (think politics or social deception/impression)

  • Infinite games (think playing the game to keep on playing)

Within your faith, you can see:

  • The finite (the definite end of your existence as a human)

  • The eternal (the soul being part of a much larger universal whole)

These two perspectives, like the games we play, influence a range of decisions.

They also shape your priorities and, most importantly, your emotional well-being.

You stop buying into fear-mongering nonsense when you tap into the eternal and infinite.

Everyone and everything becomes a mirror because the only thing that truly exists is:

You.

The universe is experiencing itself in infinitely varying degrees, and you happen to be present.

When Father Time forces change upon our world once again, you become more accepting of it.

That's the real trick to it all: acceptance of the one constant in this reality.

Change.

Because change has been around forever and will continue to be here.

Sense of Urgency in a Rapidly Changing World

Let's come back down to the real world and logic for a second.

The world you knew is gone; each day feels like it's being wasted.

Whether that's from being chronically online, the latest binge-watch on Netflix, or a heavy addiction to a particular substance.

You're not alone.

Living in the present is the goal—yet it becomes more difficult as the last ounce of care leaves your body.

Why wouldn't you be committed to your suffering?

Everyone else is; you can see it all around.

The urgency to be someone, be something, and make it.

Of course, you spend your time in resentment toward this entire experience.

Pace of the World + Inability to Stay Grounded = Feeling of Being Left Behind

But I'm here to tell you this urgency is misleading you.

The external pressures you face are not unique to you.

When pressures mount and you are not equipped with the skills to face them:

There is REASON for your anxiety.

Our World Is Watching, Judging, and Making Moves

When you manifest through agency and gratitude, the inner world dominates the outer world.

Things around you begin to change the way you want them to.

Find your intrinsic drive and contrast it with what others are doing.

Beautiful experiences will unfold through this divide.

It’s More Important Now Than Ever to Slow Things Down

The urgency and anxiety from the outside world don’t matter.

Tap into life experiences—this could be anything.

Learn to trust yourself.

Heal from the pressure of society that you have to “be someone.”

When You "Slow Down" and "Create Inner Peace," Your Actions Will Align with Your Potential Self

You are giving space to the universe to play catch-up in your madness.

This looks different for everyone, but it is much like a return to a state of "play" as you were when you were a child.

Gratitude seems to overflow from you, faith is present, and mastery is effortless.

Keep pushing—the "doing" is endless.

The Past Few Years of My Life: I Harmed My Mental Health

I chose self-actualization as my path forward. Too many self-help books and being on Twitter can do that to you.

Other people's lives constantly in your face on social media is something my caveman brain has not adapted to.

When one has more resources, it evokes a survival mechanism in most of us.

You can work past this, but most of the time, the truth behind it is a struggle with greed.

Timeless Solution? Forgiveness

Forgiveness taught me the resilience needed to continue on my path.

But this isn't everyone's experience.

I encourage you to find, from your own experiences, what guides you forward.

Because once you discover that, you can now see your personal truths.

Inward Truth Is Essential to Mental Well-Being

This is because no one can infringe upon it.

Your mental fortitude, vigor, and optimistic outlook require a belief.

Life is a transition game; the page will always be turning.

Daily gratitude helps you find this inward truth. Be on the lookout for your hyper-unique path.

The Place You Call Home Has Two Options

Finite or Eternal?

This duality exemplifies being at every level of your consciousness.

Mindsets are shaped by these core assumptions.

When living with a finite mindset, everything in life has a timer attached to it.

I Prefer Not to Live Like This Anymore

With the mindset that "I am" an eternal being, life tends to slow down.

This newfound pace, with no timers and no existential dread, provides key examples:

  • I choose what I work on and for how long

  • I don't operate out of scarcity in any area of my experience

  • Self-love takes the wheel over self-actualization paradigms

When in finite mode, everything feels agonizing and nothing gets done.

You Can Embrace the Present While Planning for the Future

It is difficult to ascend consciousness levels; the concept demands devotion.

One essential truth:

You'll never be able to "woo-woo" (spiritual enlightenment) your way out of the human experience.

Spirituality is all practical entertainment.

Yet Within Entertainment, So Much of Our Concepts of Urgency and Tranquility Clash

Pursue peace in the present moment; play for long-term growth.

Prioritize agency and gratitude.

For me, it looks like:

  • 1 practice moment (any endeavor)

  • 1 spiritual moment (text or meditation)

  • 1 joyful/fun moment (building or releasing stress)

Because when you live in the present, life tends to be moment-to-moment.

This Week’s Edition Delved into the Tension Between the Finite and the Eternal

We explored how slowing down and embracing inner peace can outweigh the urgency imposed by the outside world.

By cultivating forgiveness, faith, and gratitude, you can reclaim control over your pace and priorities, breaking free from the chaos of modern life.

Remember, life doesn’t demand that you “win” every race or tick every box today.

What matters is finding your rhythm—a balance where you honor both finite moments and eternal truths.

Where do you want to reside: in the rush of urgency or the calm of intentional living?

Now, It’s Your Turn

Take five minutes to reflect:

  • Where in your life do you feel trapped by urgency?

  • What would it look like to slow down?
