Nothing Stays The Same

Dreams Start With Patience #13

Reading time: 2 minutes

What to expect:

  1. Embrace Change and Seek Novelty

  2. Adopt Routine and Cultivate Creativity:

  3. Observe, Reflect, and Transmute Negativity

The truth is nothing stays the same forever

We’re constantly in a state of motion

You can find novelty anywhere if you look through a different lens

The best tip for personal development/time management is this:

Develop a routine - in a world where everything changes. The controllable actions we have stay the same.

You are the captain of your own life. Steer accordingly, that’s all you can do.

So many unaccounted for variables occur - fired from your job, death of a loved one, market disruption, natural disaster, betrayal from spouse etc.

You exist to do the work of a human being - Set your future self up for success.

I’m not forcing a better life upon anyone. All I ask is people get rid of their ignorance in attempt to live happier, healthier, and wealthier.

Routine + Creation

Setting up a routine for when you create will be the determining factor for your success with art.

Art has it’s place in both the natural and spiritual world.

Some pieces will manifest if you act openly without rules.

Don’t label the work before it has begun.

One situation I find many artists in:

A constant state of fight or flight

Why is this?

Well from personal experience - our art feels like an extension of self.

That extension comes from the highest sensitivity we have to offer as individuals.

Stay the course, steer the ship for the long haul.

Artists will come and go - just as the ideas artists have.

Rick Rubin says in his book

When an idea’s time has come, you need to act on it. If you do not- the idea will manifest in someone else.”
(The Creative Act: A Way Of Being)

You and I are capable of acting more than thinking.

Time for creativity is important but we typically forget about leaving space for creativity as well.

People have subjective views on art. The best thing you can do is publish your work and ignore the rest.

Create a boundary for negativity.

You either avoid it or embrace it - doing so will transmute the hate into something greater.

Cultivate multiple perspectives, start being incredibly aware of the world around you.

Mike Schmidt a New York photographer online says this to young visual artists: “The job of an artist is to observe - the next time you go outside, don’t bring your camera just watch and observe”

The perspective of the observer is infinite.

You start to tap into creative energy.
