Dreams Start With Patience #36
Reading time: 5 minutes
I used to believe in the power of competition.
As I’ve grown on X the benefits of meeting others and networking become a place for experimentation.
Other individuals have taught me multiple disciplines.
Specifically in the realm of health, wealth, and happiness.

When in pursuit of your higher potential take note of this phenomenon:
You know exactly what you need to do for survival - this is your purpose.
Modern times are full of choices.
Choices that look like overindulgence or optimal progress.
The cost of your potential is sacrifice.
Everyone has an idea of what their potential looks like.
Some people are just more sensitive to the realm of ignorance.
Others invest in themselves and others through capital or providing significant value.
Where do you stand?
Consumer or creator?
Every individual has the power to build or destroy those around them.
Life is better with others around.
Relationships are the foundation for your happiness.
The insights learned from a network of artists and entrepreneurs are gradually more valuable the more plugged into conscious consumption you are.
Who are you invested in?
Your time and energy are a currency.
The phrase - “I don’t have enough time” is an annoyance.
Remove it from your sentence structures.
Speak the truth - you would just prefer not to do it.
Relationships get better when you start playing co-op which sometimes requires you to disconnect from the game.
If you believe competition with others is the best course of action…
Video games, academia, sports, and workplace environments all thrive from 2 concepts.
Status and competition.
Why?
It’s easier to gain status from tarnishing others to uplift yourself or your group.
It is difficult to build - there’s a reason why people don’t pursue the creator lifestyle or entrepreneurship.
The sign of the first roadblock causes 90% of people to panic or give up.
You can go the distance by cultivating competition + cooperation.
Because competition forces you to act - but you need to be in direct competition with yourself.
You set yourself up to fail without learning when in competition with your community.
Solution? Compete with yourself and elevate + support your tribe with that competitive spirit.
When you’re highly competitive you aren’t tapping into the power of the tribe.
Everyone is an enemy.
Fight or flight mechanisms take place - you’re ruled by your ego.
Salvation can occur when you take a step back and realize you are nothing without others.
The food you eat, the shelter you live in, the water you drink, and the entertainment you indulge in.
All made possible by acknowledgment of the great technological progress your species has made.
You are nothing without the tribe.
Entertain the idea of gratitude for humanity rather than disdain.
Steve Jobs had this realization in his life.
In an email, he sent to himself on his iPad days before his death stated:

I grow little of the food I eat, and of the little I do grow I did not breed or perfect the seeds.
I do not make any of my own clothing.
I speak a language I did not invent or refine. I did not discover the mathematics I use.
I am protected by freedoms and laws I did not conceive of or legislate, and do not enforce or adjudicate.
I am moved by music I did not create myself.
When I needed medical attention, I was helpless to help myself survive.
I did not invent the transistor, the microprocessor, object oriented programming, or most of the technology I work with.
I love and admire my species, living and dead, and am totally dependent on them for my life and well being.
Sent from my iPad
Humanity leveling up with technology and ideas is f**king awesome.
You are 100x more productive than Einstein, Socrates, and Nietzche.
How?
By the progress made by leveraging computation power and telecommunications.
Provide value through solving your problems - this is your purpose.
