Dreams Start With Patience #41
Reading time: 5 minutes
The way of the digital introvert.
Loneliness on this planet is starting to skyrocket.
Even more so, we are detached from a sense of community.
My take? In the future - we will see this problem solved through online communities with more immersive experiences.
It’s already happening. Let’s dive deep but before we do
Starting in February
I'm opening up 2 slots for my 1 on 1 coaching.
Imagine you have incredible systems for content creation and a fulfilling personal brand.
If you are:
-A creator looking to improve your content creation and marketing approach for online business.
-In need of systems that work and guide through the chaos of the creator economy
-Ready to invest in your storytelling abilities
Introverted nerds have taken over the business.
The way of the introverted nerd is always the same.
Isolation → ideation → immense growth
Why is this?
There is growth in areas of life that people miss.
You spend so much of your time alone.
People naturally resist this - but if you lean into it.
You will have unprecedented self-reflection.
To go with the flow and reflect is what most individuals would rather not do.
The narcissist who only cares about himself is loud - not quiet.
An introverted nerd who spent years playing video games in isolation knows his deepest desires and worst fears.
The difference between one becoming successful or not comes down to peering into the depths of the unknown that is the subconscious mind.
How do we do this?
Well - meditation for starters.
Reading and asking questions allows you to open up new opportunities for change.
Change = growth
Intention = positive or negative continuity of growth
The introverted nerd is taking over the business when implementing a masochist approach to pain and feelings of discomfort.
You can play Elden Ring and get stomped all over.
The natural reaction is to get off the game when you lose - it’s uncomfortable.
You can build a business with a new and exciting model you haven’t tried yet.
And then..
You get stomped all over.
But for those pain-loving nerds out there - it becomes a default for the ability to persevere through the dark moments life has to offer.
Isolation and challenges make you into a more refined and experienced person.
It's similar to leveling up in a soulslike video game.
Solitude not loneliness
When I stopped seeing my “loneliness” as something awful
(mindset works wonders hmm)
It blossomed into something beautiful → the holy solitude.
Solitude is a choice.
Loneliness is oftentimes not a choice and is full of despair.
I love my solitude and rather than seeing my time alone as something horrible and uncomfortable → I lean into the resistance.
I make it my own safe haven for ideation, creativity, and project building.
So - however you frame your situation in life will be important for the story you tell yourself.
Introversion doesn’t mean a lack of social skills
The myth of the introvert:
Imagine it (if you’re an introvert you know where I’m going)
It’s a wonderful sunny day, you’re with some old friends.
They’re joking about how you never reach out anymore.
Which - you don’t.
You’re too obsessed with your own world - you’re busy.
The ridiculous hours spent in front of a computer building something worthwhile is what inspires you to get out of bed.
But, when it’s time to be social.
You do so with ease.
I’m an INFJ-A.
I would much rather spend my time alone away from hordes of people.
But - a lot of people I meet tell me I have great communication skills (verbally).
How come we are so quick to judge people on their ability to communicate and tie it in with their ability to energize others?
Strange world - but I’m sure you get the point.
Just because you prefer to be alone 80% of the time doesn’t mean you’re incapable of socializing.
3 Things I Learned This Week:
Everyone has the potential to tell great stories.
The problem is most people aren’t documenting the mundane stories that lead to the emotional change.
Think of your stories like this:
Beginning - Middle - End.
Problem - transformation - resolution.
This can be emotionally charged or irrational behavior.
Also, get rid of the “hero’s journey”
This isn’t a fiction book or Hollywood movie.
It’s your life.
Chances are you’re not always the hero.Extend your time horizons of “success”
We live in such a fast-paced economy.
You may be feeling left behind by committing to one thing.
But I promise you this is the key to standing out a world vying for your attention.
Extend the timeline of goals or projects → Commit to mastery and perseverance → give everything you can to the people who support you.Problem-solving is a pain if you only chase band-aid solutions.
You get much better results from problem-solving if you can get to the source of a problem.
This applies to everything:
-Business
-Personal
-Health
-Recreational
So think - what is the source of this?
