The Bold Reason Behind My Buzzcut Transformation
Why I choose to ignore the opinions of family and friends
Dreams Start With Patience #37
Reading time: 5 minutes
Obsession.
a persistent disturbing preoccupation with an often unreasonable idea or feeling
Hair is an important part of how people perceive you.
Doing difficult things requires sacrifice.
So I did just that - impulsively and with no regrets.
Why?
Because I’ve been feeling like I need a rebirth to step into this new year.
2023 has been filled with new habits, changes, and struggles.
There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world and in my life.
When I first moved out the idea of doing something bold and taking risks scared the f**k out of me.
Take back your power of IDGAF.
Everyone has an opinion when you give them a chance.
99% of the time we choose to listen even though we shouldn’t.
You shouldn’t take advice from people who are not living the life you’d like to live.
Simple but when starting something worthwhile it’s rather difficult to get over the hump of people’s judgment
Obsession with improvement comes down to you and you only.
When obsessed with your goals and mission - you get locked into heightened states of focus.
Zach Pogrob inspired me to buzz my head.
I’ve always had long hair growing up - I grew up with lots of women who love long hair on men.
This move was completely out of left field for people in my life and how they view me.
It you feel stuck in life- highly recommend shaving your head and signing up for something extreme (marathon, bodybuilding, race, fight, etc)
It's a hard reset on how you view yourself. Did this about 2 months ago, and cut 20lb w/ running
Buzzed = haircut of obsession 🏴

Your family and friends might disagree with your life choices - ignore them.
We value the opinions of those closest to us.
My mom is seriously my biggest supporter and biggest critic.
I love her because of her raw authenticity to tell me how it is.
It’s a trait she’s instilled into my persona as I’ve grown.
But my parents have always questioned why I do what I do.
In high school, I wanted to be so filthy rich that I could retire them.
Everyone wants to retire their parents - it’s a noble goal to pursue.
It causes you to realize your mortality.
Because as you grow up you start to understand you’re watching your parents grow up as well.
Time is ticking - your dreams and goals are slowly slipping away.
Your expectations for how life is either cripples you or empowers you.
Stop complaining.
Complaining is for people who don’t take action.
In 2024, you have the potential to build your dream life out.
What are you going to sacrifice to help the people who raised you and nurtured you?
It’s understandable if you grow to not like or respect your parents - this edition of the newsletter is not for you.
If your caregivers did their best:
-Put a roof over your head
-Food in your stomach
-Clothed and educated you
You owe it to them to improve their lives.
Family is the most important why in my life.
I would be nothing without the support of my mom and dad.
They worked their asses off to support my 5 siblings and me.
Sure, they’re not perfect but growing up into adulthood is understanding that nobody is perfect.
We all have our flaws and ideals.
My father taught me to critically think and question everything.
He’s a humble giant.
I grew up with resentment because I didn’t understand the complexity of the relationship between father and son.
Over time I began to see his reason for doing everything he did - even if he was harsh at times.
Thank you Dad for making me into the man I am today.
My mother taught me to create and dream big - no matter how ridiculous it seems to others.
She is a firecracker who isn’t afraid to put up a fight for what she believes in.
My mom provided me with the inspiration and encouragement to start creating photographs.
She’s always been a photographer - if it wasn’t for her so many memories would’ve disappeared.
Thank you Mom for bringing me to America and improving the quality of my life.
Thank you for teaching me to dream with patience.
Thank your parents and caregivers while you can.
Even if they don’t agree with everything you do.
There’s a reason behind it.
Uncover it.
Life is fragile, people grow sick, and the brain ages and deteriorates.
I shaved my head as a declaration going into 2024.
I’m no longer half-assing life.
This year has been monumental for me in terms of growth and mindset.
Gain the respect of your parents through your ability to better yourself.
Ultimately making them proud of the person they raised.
Shock them with how incredible your life is.
Because wealth, health, and happiness are nothing without a life of love with people you adore.
Improve the self
Improve the tribe.
Improve the world.
What got me here?
Iteration.
Just to name a few changes made this year:
Living on my edge.
Meaningful rest and cultivating fun.
Learning - consistently and with urgency.
Showing up even when I didn’t feel like it.
Meaningful goals and the willpower to execute.
Being able to provide value rather than complain.
Surrounding myself with people who make me better by association.
Don’t live your life like an accident - find your purpose and provide the world to those who brought you into it.
